Company History
PRELIMINARY NOTE
Quantum SPT’s electric servo pump (ESP) was originally developed by the same engineering team operating under the Techni Waterjet brand. The core innovators, designers, and technical leadership who pioneered the servo pump back in 2009 are the same experts who continue advancing the technology at QSPT today. This timeline represents the true evolution of the pump and its creators, independent of the company name at the time. One team. One invention. One evolution.

THE ORIGIN

- 1989: Establishment of Turnkey in Melbourne, providing simple automation solutions for multinationals such as Ford, Toyota, General Motors, Kodak and Kimberly-Clark.
- 1993: Manufacture of the first robotic cutting cell for Johnson Controls and beginning of a long and successful collaboration with KMT.
- 1997: Establishment of a 30,000 sq. ft. facility in Melbourne.
- 2000: First production of the Techjet 3000 waterjet cutting machine which granted the Innovation Excellent Award.
- 2004: Techni Waterjet Pty is born as Turn-Key Automation transitions its core business to high-pressure abrasive waterjet cutting systems.
- 2007: Innovation Excellence Award for Advanced Manufacturing Technology is granted by the Australian Government.
- 2008: Launch of the PAC55, the first 5-Axis waterjet cutting head offering taper compensation and bevel cutting.

THE INNOVATION ERA

- 2009: Global launch of the groundbreaking Quantum ESP: the industry’s first Electric Servo Pump inspired by Nasa’s program to replace hydraulic cylinders with direct-drive servo linear actuators.
- 2010: Quantum wins the Innovation Award for pump technology at EuroBLECH in Germany.
- 2011: Introduction of Quantum ESP Generation 2.
- 2013: Recognition for sustainable technology in Australia.
- 2017: Introduction of Quantum ESP Generation 4. During this period, the technology is further engineered and adapted for demanding applications such as industrial homogenizing and gas compression.
- 2018: Acquisition of the machine division of Techni Waterjet by GMM (Italy).

THE EXPANSION ERA

- 2019: Establishment of Quantum SPT in Melbourne by the original innovation team.
- 2020: Quantum builds a state-of-the-art factory in Thailand as part of its expansion strategy.
- 2021: Global introduction of the 6,000 Bar Quantum Ultimate Series. In parallel, the Quantum ESP is installed in its first HPP application.
- 2023: Patent granted for 6,000 Bar rated high pressure components.
- 2024: Relocation to the newly completed factory, implementing elevated standards in quality assurance and technology-driven inventory management.
- 2025: Founding of Quantum SPT GmbH in Germany to serve markets at the forefront of green technology and promote a more sustainable future.
