JK Prototype, Inc. is a leader in the metal stamping industry with a strong commitment to quality, service, and problem solving. The company specializes in custom tooling built to tight tolerances as well as short run production parts manufactured in high volumes.
As a high-performance job shop, JK Prototype relies on advanced waterjet cutting technology to support precision tooling and consistent production output.
The investment
To strengthen its manufacturing capabilities, JK Prototype added a Techjet 3000 X3 waterjet cutting system equipped with a Quantum ESP 37/66 Electric Servo Pump. The company also invested in a second Quantum pump for their existing waterjet system.
Why the Quantum ESP
JK Prototype owner – Doug Stedtefeld – said, “The pump is the number one reason we went back to Techni. Tanks are tanks; the Quantum pump offers quietness and ease of rebuilding. We checked out other suppliers, but nothing compared.”
Doug went on to state, “I am talking with you now and I have both pumps running, yet my air compressor is all we can hear.”
Quantum SPT prides itself in providing customers with continued reliability and quality of product yet, above all, realizes that the relationship with our customers is key for long-term success.
Production Benefits
JK Prototype processes a wide range of materials including cold rolled steel, stainless steel, spring steel, nickel-based alloys, copper and copper alloys, aluminum, and phenolics.
The upgraded waterjet system supports accurate cutting across these materials and helps ensure that stamped and drawn parts meet customer specifications.
